Mohamed Edries, an Oracle financial trainer, consultant, and expert in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, has over a decade of experience in Oracle financial applications and budgeting implementation programs. He possesses comprehensive skills in designing and implementing advanced technological solutions to enhance organizational performance and operational efficiency. Additionally, he excels in training staff to effectively utilize Oracle applications to meet contemporary business needs. The Beginning:
Mohamed's professional journey began in 2010 as a consultant for Oracle financial applications at e-finance, where he supported the implementation of governmental financial information management projects and automated the general budget preparation and execution process for the Egyptian government. This phase was foundational in developing his technical and managerial skills. During this time, Mohamed was part of a dedicated team working to enhance financial efficiency and transparency across more than 3,000 governmental units. This required a deep understanding of client needs and the ability to analyze diverse financial processes. He contributed to designing and implementing advanced technological solutions using Oracle applications, leading to significant improvements in financial reporting and budget management processes.
Challenges and successes:
As Mohamed progressed to the role of Applications Manager, he led a team of 15 consultants, including operations, technical support, and development teams, overseeing the implementation of major governmental programs and projects. Throughout this period, Mohamed faced several challenges, such as resistance from some employees in governmental units during system activation due to technical knowledge gaps and fears about the impact of change on traditional workflows. He also dealt with stringent project deadlines, particularly under the pressure of delivering accurate financial reports on time. Furthermore, he navigated the complexities of data integration, ensuring the successful migration of historical data and previous actual and budgetary balances from legacy systems to new ones while maintaining data accuracy and system compatibility.
Mohamed's career afforded him the opportunity to achieve notable accomplishments both within Egypt and internationally, contributing to the enhancement of financial systems' efficiency and governance. Some key achievements include:
Engaging in meetings with representatives from the governments of Sudan and Libya, Mohamed facilitated the transfer of Egypt's pioneering experience in automating governmental accounts and implementing general budget preparation and execution systems. These sessions included detailed presentations on the system's functionalities and its significant benefits in enhancing financial resource management and operational efficiency.
As part of the MALIYAH project, Mohamed conducted comprehensive training sessions for employees of the Ministry of Finance in the Sultanate of Oman. The training focused on managing general accounts, preparing budgets, and analyzing financial data using the latest Oracle tools, equipping participants with advanced skills to enhance their financial management capabilities.
Mohamed provided training to staff at Jeddah University in Saudi Arabia on Oracle financial systems, enabling them to effectively utilize the system to enhance the efficiency of financial and accounting operations within the university.
Oversaw the activation of the Government Financial Management Information System (GFMIS) across all governmental units and economic entities in Egypt, successfully implementing the system in over 3,000 account units.
Assisting major companies in Egypt in developing their financial systems and improving operations, including e-finance, Misr Takaful Insurance, and the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.
Mohamed has trained and developed hundreds of governmental employees and economic Unit representatives on Oracle systems.
